Creating a GST invoice in India requires a few mandatory fields:
- Seller details: business name, GSTIN, address and contact.
- Customer details: name, GSTIN (if registered) and address.
- Invoice number & date: follow a consistent numbering pattern.
- Line items: product description, HSN/SAC, quantity, rate, taxable value.
- Taxes: CGST, SGST or IGST depending on the place of supply.
- Totals: subtotal, tax breakup and grand total in words.
- Payment mode and optional notes.
